Setting up a Canadian Customs Brokerage Account

Overview of the service

Canadian Customs Brokerage accounts help Canadian and non-Canadian businesses import into Canada.

Here are the steps to follow as you set-up the Canadian Customs Brokerage account

1) Get approval to begin the account setup process with client from either:
       a. Michael Butterfield or
       b. Renee Pobihuschyj
   This will be by explaining:
       i. Volume
       ii. Customs Invoice Lineage
       iii. What the importer is doing
       iv. Additional customs related matters (such as valuation, origin and available Certificates of Origin)
2) Present proposal to client
3) Begin filling out the Client Profile document
4) Forms to be filled in:

       a. Credit Application (Credit Must be approved by AR Team before any additional steps can occur)
               i. Credit Approval may take up to 5 business days
              ii. Ensure proper Corporate Name and Business number are noted
       b. Release Prior to Payment Bond
       c. Direct Security Letter
       d. General Agency Agreement
              i. Ensure proper Corporate Name and Business number are noted
       e. Daily Notice & Statement of Account registration
       f. If required:
              i. Cancellation Letter/Notice
              ii. Carrier Authority
5) Finish the Account Setup Forms
6) Determine a target start date from the prospective client
7) Communicate to Renee Pobihuschyj and request an Account Implementation Meeting
       a. Renee will assign an Integrated Service Representative (ISR)
       b. Hold Client Implementation Meeting
       c. Go back to client with any questions arising from the meeting
8) Send Cancellation Notice & Carrier Authority if applicable
